The second graders will be preparing for the sacrament of reconciliation in the fall.  First Communion preparation will take place as usual in the spring.  The Archdiocese has asked all parishes to prepare for the reception of reconciliation before the preparation of First Communion takes place.

 First Reconciliation Preparation Information 2011/2012:

Two types of retreats:
Traditional Retreat:  This retreat starts off with the parents and First Reconciliation candidates in the Church for a tour of the Reconciliation Room, the sacristy, the altar and much more.  Then they travel to the cafeteria in the school where the children will work in groups with crafts, games, role-plays and songs.  The adults will go to the Meyer Center for some encouraging words on reconciliation.

Family Retreat:  This is recommended for families who have prepared other children for Reconciliation who can also attend and take part in the retreat and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  The whole family comes together in the Church Undercroft and participates in activities and discussions about forgiveness.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in the church immediately following the retreat activities.
