St. Susanna Youth Ministry Code of Conduct 2009/2010
1. Students should not arrive more than ten minutes before the official starting time of any event. Students are expected to be present for the entire event and not leave early except in the case of illness or emergency. Students must receive permission from an adult before leaving early. St. Susanna Youth Ministry meetings are NOT “drop-in” events.
2. Students will remain in the Undercroft and NOT venture into the church sanctuary area at any time during Youth Ministry meetings.
3. Students must arrange a ride to and from St. Susanna events. Students must not wait until the particular event has ended to find a ride.
4. Students must be picked up promptly at the designated ending time of the events.
5. Students must respect other individuals and all St. Susanna property. This includes peers, adult volunteers, staff and all building facilities.
6. Students are welcome to bring guests to any St. Susanna activity. Guests must be checked in with the Youth Minister. If a guest comes to two youth group events, they are expected to become a registered youth group member.
7. Students are responsible for any guests that they bring to a function. Students must accept the consequences for any youth group rules that their guest does not follow.
8. Students are responsible for the cleanliness of all facilities they use. Students may be asked to pay damages to the facility caused by inappropriate behavior.
9. Students are responsible for reporting any of the above situations caused by others to the adults in charge.
There may be specific rules and regulations based on the individual activity and students will abide by those rules. These may be in written form or may be verbalized by the adults in charge.
10. Students with driver’s licenses are permitted to drive to St. Susanna’s. Students must drive in a responsible and safe manner. Driving to St. Susanna is a privilege and can be revoked by parents at any time.
11. No student shall be in possession of or use tobacco products including chewing tobacco and cigarettes.
12. No student shall be in possession of or under the influence of any alcohol or drugs.
13. No student is permitted to bring any weapon or other materials that might endanger others. Students must tell an adult if they are aware of someone else who is in possession of any dangerous item.
14. There will be no skateboarding or rollerblading in the parking lot before, during or after any St. Susanna events.
15. There will be no foul language or vandalizing during St. Susanna events.
Any inappropriate contact of a violent or sexual nature will not be tolerated.
16. If students do not follow the Code of Conduct, the consequence may range from warning, parental notification, or suspension from youth group events without refund. These consequences are based on the discretion of the Youth Minister.
