Welcome to the new worship center of St. Susanna Parish. We are a Catholic Community striving to know Jesus and his message, to serve others and to grow in prayer and worship as the Body of Christ. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a parishioner of St. Susanna, we invite you to learn more about our new home.
The parish was founded in 1938 and has been growing steadily ever since (click here to learn more about our the history of our parish). Construction of the new worship center began in the Fall of 2003 (click here to see photos of the construction) and was dedicated in April of 2005.
The development of this larger worship center reflects the efforts and input of the whole parish, led by our pastor, Father Harry Meyer. The building was designed to enable this growing community to nourish its vibrant faith life through our participation in the sacraments.
The architectural character of the exterior of the building welcomes together a community of Catholic families. The new St Susanna church is a gathering place for the assembly, a place of encounter with God, and a place where we are nourished to continue building God’s reign.
In terms of style, the church has been conceived as a place suited to sacred celebrations, dignified but inviting. Although the structure is one of the largest parish churches in the Archdiocese, as you approach the entrance portal, the proportions of the structure have been designed to be continually reduced in size and scale to offer itself in harmony with the human scale of the approaching worshipers. The curved exterior façade of the Worship Space is a direct expression of the coming together of the parish families as one body in celebration of the sacred liturgy.
