Across the Gathering Space, opposite the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, we find the Reconciliation Chapel. The positioning of these chapels reminds us of how these sacraments serve to unite us with each other in community. Here we celebrate the mercy of God’s forgiveness and are reconciled with the community.
The windows surrounding the Reconciliation Chapel reflect images of being lost and found. The desert and shipwreck scenes remind us of our tendency to wander from God’s care. The loving image of the Father welcoming the Prodigal Son reminds us of God’s loving mercy and desire to welcome us home.
The chapel is furnished with chairs, a kneeler and a privacy screen. The arrangement allows for the option of face-to-face celebration of this sacrament, or the traditional form, behind the screen.
