What is Young at Heart (YAH)? We are a friendly, welcoming social organization within St. Susanna Parish for anyone age 55+.
How often and where do you meet? We have monthly luncheon meetings with enjoyable programs the third Wednesday of each month, at NOON, in the St. Susanna room (located in the Undercroft of the Church). Enter through the doors on the Parish Office side of the Church. An elevator is available if needed. Follow the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee to the meeting room.
What do you do? Meetings include a delicious catered lunch, brief announcements of upcoming trips, events or activities, and a program. Past programs include a singing narrative of Cincinnati natives Doris Day’s and Rosemary Clooney’s careers; historical overviews of Reds teams, local landmarks, and VOA; a magician; an auctioneer; and much more.
What does it cost? Annual dues are $18 per person. Luncheons are $15 per person. Please RSVP and submit your lunch payment to the St. Susanna Parish Office at least 5 days prior to the meeting. Details are published in the St. Susanna bulletin.
Where do you go on trips? We enjoy both day trips and longer bus trips. We’ve gone to Reds games, the La Comedia dinner theater, the Keeneland Raceway, and a Toyota assembly plant. Our longer trips have included Mount Rushmore and the Badlands of South Dakota, the Biltmore in North Carolina, Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and New Orleans, the New York Finger Lakes including the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and a tour of the New England states during the colorful fall foliage time.
Do you need to be a parishioner to join YAH? No. Although most Young at Heart members are St. Susanna parishioners, some are not. We welcome all new members!
